SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:
This pigment has a strong electronic absorption edge centered at about 0.61 microns where reflectance drops from 34% to nearly 2% in the visible. A very broad shallow absorption centered at 1.34 microns dominates the near infrared portion of the spectrum. Weak vibrational absorptions are centered at 1.931, 2.043, 2.177, and 2.284 microns (continuum removed positions). G. Swayze
