SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

The spectrum was measured on the weathered surface of the plastic. The visqueen plastic spectrum resembles spectra of High Density Polyethene (HDPE) plastic. The spectrum is essentially flat from 0.55 to 1.1 microns at a reflectance level of 45%. Significant absorptions occur at 1.2141, 1.4181. There are C-H stretch absorptions at 1.7298, 1.7650, and 1.8206 microns. There are weaker absorptions at 2.0100 and 2.0525 microns. There are also C-H combination bands at 2.3102, 2.3501 microns and and a broad complex of bands centered around 2.415 microns.
