SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

This pigment has a strong electronic absorption edge centered at about 0.52 microns where reflectance drops from 50% to nearly 2% in the visible. There is a broad vibrational absorption centered at 0.744 microns with shoulders at 0.652 and 0.839 microns. Another even broader band is centered at 1.292 microns with shoulders at 1.081 and 1.576 microns. There is also a broad relatively strong band at 1.938 microns with a relatively weaker absorption complex centered at 2.244 microns (continuum removed positions). Positions of absorptions and number of absorptions in absorption complexes with overlapping bands are approximate, and would require deconvolution to determine the actual number and position of absorptions.
