SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

This pigment has a strong sigmoidally shaped electronic absorption edge where reflectance drops from 70% to nearly 3% in the visible forming a strong absorption centered at 0.48 microns. The upper part of the sigmoid is formed by an absorption centered at 0.532 microns. There is a very broad electronic? absorption centered at 1.752 microns with subsidiary vibrational? bands at 1.445 and 2.001 microns. Weaker vibrational absorptions are also present at 2.241 and 2.320 microns (continuum removed positions). G. Swayze
