SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

This pigment has spectral absorptions characteristic of goethite at 0.499, 0.671,and 0.963 microns. Vibrational absorptions at 1.413, 1.468, and 2.206 microns may represent clay constituents, possibley montmorillonite and a smaller proportion of kaolinite as NIR active phases (continuum removed positions).
