SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

The spectrum has a weak absorption at 0.97 microns and a much stronger absorption at 1.42 microns. There are also weak absorptions at 2.31 and 2.45 microns. These absorptions may be OH related. The spectrum apparently lacks detectable f-f transition absorptions present in spectra of other Lanthanide series elements over the 0.35 to 2.5 micron wavelength range at the spectral resolution of the ASD spectrometer -- assuming that the absorptions in the 2 micron region are not from f-f transitions.
