SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

The spectrum lacks detectable f-f transition absorptions present in spectra of other Lanthanide series elements over the 0.35 to 2.5 micron wavelength range at the spectral resolution of the ASD spectrometer. Otherwise, the spectrum shows absorptions typical of water near 1, 1.2, and between 1.4 and 1.5 microns. The water content is apparently high enough to saturate the 2 to 2.5 micron region. G. Swayze.
