SAMPLE_DESCRIPTION:

This sample was collected from the southwestern portion of the western alteration center at Cuprite, NV and is composed of hydrothermally altered lower Cambrian Harkless Phyllite altered during a 7.5 Ma hydrothermal event.

END_SAMPLE_DESCRIPTION.

XRD_ANALYSIS:

Dickite plus some solid solution with kaolinite, quartz, and calcite.

END_MICROSCOPIC_EXAMINATION.

SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

The spectrum doesn't include the spectral range from 0.35-1.35 microns. The spectral absorptions are characteristic of dickite with strong doublets in the 1.4 and 2.2 micron region.
