MINERAL: Chrysotile (Kaolinite-Serpentine Group)
CURRENT_SAMPLE_LOCATION: U.S.G.S. Denver Spectroscopy Laboratory.
ULTIMATE_SAMPLE_LOCATION: U.S.G.S. Denver Spectroscopy Laboratory.
Chrysotile was not available in grain sizes greater than 200µm and was not sieved to grain sizes less than 200µm because of its carcinogenic character.
This is a pure chrysotile. Sample analysis by Norma Vergo.

COMPOSITIONAL_ANALYSIS_TYPE: None # XRF, EPMA, ICP(Trace), WChem
Several attempts were made to chemically analyze this sample by XRF. However, sufficient quantities were not available to perform a reliable analysis.
Microscopically this is a pure chrysotile. Fibers avg. diameter is about 8 µm from optical observations. G. Swayze.
