Rio Rancho Survey
|Survey Map||Aeromagnetic Data Surrounding Albuquerque|
A high-resolution aeromagnetic survey was flown over this area in November-December, 1996 by Sial Geosciences, Inc. on contract to the U. S. Geological Survey. The survey covers Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, most of Sandia Pueblo lands, and northern Albuquerque. Flight lines were flown east-west, 100-meters apart, and at a nominal 100-meters above ground (except over developed areas where the height was approximately 150-meters above ground). More information about the survey is contained in U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 97-0286. Digital images in various formats, grids in ArcInfo-compatible format, and ASCII text (view the readme file first) are available for downloading via anonymous ftp. The flight-line data are available from USGS Open-File Report 02-361 (survey #4189).
A combined airborne electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic survey was flown over this area in March, 1997 by Geoterrex, Inc. on contract to the U.S. Geological Survey. Flight lines were flown east-west, 400-meters apart, and at a nominal 120-meters plane height above ground (except over developed areas where the plane flew 150-meters above ground). The EM bird and magnetometer were towed 50-meters and 45-meters, respectively, vertically below the plane. More information about the TDEM data and the aeromagnetic data for this survey is contained in U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 00-0502, which contains digital images and grids in various formats, flight-line data, and a report describing the survey acquisition of the TDEM data and the magnetic data in more detail.
