Middle Rio Grande Basin

Time-domain Electromagnetic (TEM) Method

Resistivity - Map of electrical resistivity showing study area at different depth slices below the water table.

Perspective view of electrical resistivity maps derived from the airborne TEM survey at three different depth slices below the water table (in meters above sea level). White areas indicate areas of no data due to low signal. Different ranges of resistivities are related to differences in sediment grain sizes (see scale), based on correlations with borehole information. In general, the coarser-grained sediments are the better aquifers.
