Experience

Research Geologist with more than 30 years experience in field geology, petrology, geochemistry, isotope geology, structural geology, tectonics, economic geology, geology of world gemstone deposits, and management. More than 300 peer-reviewed research articles, maps, books, and abstracts covering geologic research throughout the world. Many presentations to professional societies and groups. Supervised many geology and geochemistry graduate students. Currently conducting field and laboratory studies in Texas, Montana, Alaska, California; Australian Research Council-funded collaborative research on gold deposits in Australia, and US Agency for International Development-funded reconstruction work for the US Geological Survey on geologic mapping and mineral resources, including gemstone deposits in Afghanistan.
